It took a while for me to work out what the Kookaburra should be perched upon, and the answer came to me when I was daydreaming in the shower (the best place for inspiration). I used an Early Kooka stove when I moved out of home to study in Bathurst and rented a house at the age of 19. The gas stoves were developed by Metters, a company established by Frederick Metters in Adelaide in 1891. This version dates back to 1937. The wallpaper in the background is loosely based on one from 1878, The Sunflower, designed by Bruce James Talbert for Jeffrev & Co.
