Statement
Born in rural Ireland, Fiona’s work occupies a space that feels both familiar and ‘other’, exploring themes of nature and environmental impact. Working with inks, pastels, and paints on burlap, she draws on the fabric’s coarse weave to represent nature in crisis. At first glance, her pieces appear delicate, yet a closer look reveals gestural marks that are chaotic and untethered, prompting viewers to reflect on how they perceive the environment and the world around them.
