María Fernanda Lavera is a cotemporary artist, from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
MessageAfter exhibiting in Florence, I took a train to Lucca and found myself immersed in its quiet beauty and sacred history. Surrounded by ancient stones and the spiritual air of the Basilica of San Frediano, I was overcome by a sense of reverence and reflection.
Paper God was born from this intoxication of art and divinity. A fragile deity made of paper stands at the center—symbol of constructed beliefs, of human-made holiness. Bowing before it, a hybrid Fox creature embodies Humanity. The piece speaks of devotion, invention, and the delicate structures we worship.
