A woman visiting my atelier once looked at me and said: “You are forceful”, and left.
That word echoed in my head, and from it, Contundencia was born—with the same determination and honesty in its expression as those passing words had evoked.

After an exhibition in Florence, Italy, in 2018, the piece was lost and remained missing for five years—until it was recovered in Syracuse, Sicily, in 2023, while I happened to be painting in that city. It was in deteriorated condition; and when I saw it, I grabbed a pair of scissors and cut into it with such energy that there was no room for debate. That’s how a new piece was born, infused with the same spirit of strength, persuasion, and conviction: Contundencia (Forcefulness).
