Having lived with Bipolar Disorder for most of my adult life, my art has allowed me a place to escape, quieten my often racing mind and somewhere to express my inner emotions and feelings of my immediate and wider surroundings. My art is paramount in helping maintain my mental health and balance within my life!

Statement
The beautiful things in life can make us both happy and sad, but sometimes it's obvious they are not going to last, they will be forgotten, they are delicate and vulnerable, they are fragile!
My paintings are a direct reflection of my immediate and wider surroundings, my emotions and an imaginary world that exists in my mind, a place that I go too escape and be lost within. Living with Bi Polar Affective Disorder, my art is very much my therapy and plays a very significant role in maintaining my mental health.
My figures aren’t about realism or perfection, they can be a carrier of totems and symbols or be cemented within a landscape or still life setting. They explore and attempt to capture those qualities and emotions often hidden from view, in the hope of provoking a strong reaction from the viewer. My colour palate is governed by my mood and the general feeling I want to create within each painting. I am not afraid of colour or mediums and I often experiment with combinations that are not always traditional.
I flitter between painting figurative, abstract, landscapes and still life. I will often integrate these genres into one piece, in an effort to capture a narrative, feelings and emotions that words can sometimes fail to describe. The message behind my art always trumps the medium, whether it is through painting or drawing. As an artist I hope the viewer finds a personal connection with my art either emotionally or within their own life’s journey.
My art collection represented here is just some of my work from over the past 24 years or so and I want to thank those that have supported, followed and loved my art and I hope that one of my pieces finds a special place within your heart and home. My art is now held in private and public collections around Australia, USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, UK and Singapore.
