I always associate Fin Dome with falling down. I had hiked for 14 days straight. My friend Gayle had joined me and was eager to see Sixty Lakes Basin. So, on my one rest day, we headed over the ridge that holds Fin Dome. I was walking up a switchback when all of a sudden I was in a somersault, then landed on my back in a pile of rocks and dust. I took that as a sign, bade my friend a good day and spent the rest of my day slowly exploring at the base of this dome. It turned out to be one of the best days of the whole trip!
