Born in Pittsburgh, PA I began creating art in any variety of media, at a young age. Most of my early works were in clay or fibers and often sculptural. However, depending on depending on available media, I would find a way to create. After receiving a BFA in fine arts from Carnegie Mellon University, I worked as a graphic artist. From there, I tested a few obscure career paths that I conveniently tied creativity into. Most of my early works were in clay or fibers and often sculptural. I earned a master in art education from Carlow University, leading to a rewarding career experience choice as a senior high school art teacher for twenty years. Finally, I am back to working with my first love, color and texture in acrylic paintings. My work is inspired by my surrounding and emotional impact of a subtle moment magnified by light, color, and simple shapes that create the situation and a moment in time.

Statement

My work is an expression of my surroundings that are ignited with emotional expression by means of layered color and textures. Subtle moments are magnified by light, color and shapes that recreated the landscape or the figure and its moment in time.
