Statement
My personal interest in history is a big part of my work. I often reference historical joinery methods and classic designs when creating a new piece. I grew up in East Aurora, NY which is the home of the Roycroft and was a home for the Arts and Craft movement in the US. I later developed a taste for Danish modern and midcentury modern design so these two seemingly conflicting styles are where I go when I'm looking for inspiration. The authenticity of materials and construction methods is part of what draws me to the Craftsman style which I blend with the simplicity of more modern design language in order to create a piece that is uniquely me. I also use texture as a method to set my designs apart.
