Eva Sturtz is a contemporary figurative artist. She relocated frequently in her earlier years, finally settling in Philadelphia as a student at Moore College of Art & Design where she earned her BFA. Eva focuses on creating work that reclaims the female figure and explores the human experience.
Statement
Eva’s work showcases scattered memories of nude figures and frank moments of intimacy. She captures women candidly in their private spaces, portraying their nakedness both physically and emotionally. For centuries, women's bodies have been a source of pleasure for all those, but themselves; curated, depicted, and influenced by men and media. Eva reclaims the female figure as an exploration of beauty, life, vulnerability, and expression of self.
