Erika Alfiero, nacida en la Ciudad de México en 1972, es una artista plástica cuya formación y trayectoria se han desarrollado de manera única y profunda. Aunque originalmente Ingeniera Mecánica Administradora por la Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), fue su vida familiar y sus múltiples residencias en México, Londres y Budapest lo que la llevaron a descubrir y desarrollar su verdadera vocación en el arte. En Budapest, inicia su carrera artística y comienza a formarse de la mano de reconocidos maestros como Francisco Vázquez, Margarita Chacón Bache, José Pérez Noriega “Piru”, Damián Ontiveros, entre otros, especializándose en diversas técnicas como el realismo figurativo en óleo, abstracción, acrílico, cera fría, resinas, grabado y la litografía. Esta amplia gama de técnicas le ha permitido experimentar con texturas, colores y formas, características clave en su obra.
A lo largo de su carrera, Erika ha participado en importantes exposiciones tanto en México como en el extranjero. Entre las más destacadas se encuentran la IV Bienal Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo de Argentina, la XI Bienal Internacional de Arte Suba en Colombia, la V Bienal de las Plásticas NL, y la Feria Internacional de Arte Contemporáneo Spectrum Miami 2019 y 2024. Su obra ha sido exhibida en países como Argentina, Italia, España, Hungría, Brasil, Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia, México y Estados Unidos. En México, ha expuesto en importantes espacios culturales como el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Monterrey (MARCO), el Claustro de Sor Juana, el Centro Roberto Garza Sada de la UDEM y El Centro Cultural Borges en Buenos Aires
Comprometida con su comunidad, Erika ha sido parte de proyectos artísticos de gran relevancia en Nuevo León, como el “Memorial a los Héroes COVID 19” en Monterrey, y el mural de la hermandad en Tijuana, junto al activista Enrique Chiu. En 2020, su obra "Resiliencia" fue reconocida con el segundo lugar en el Concurso Anual de la Asociación de la Plástica de Monterrey, destacando la introspección y fortaleza que impregnan su trabajo.
“En el lienzo de mi vida, cada trazo es una expresión viva de mi ser. Mi arte no es solo una manifestación, sino un reflejo de la resiliencia que ha tejido las fibras de mi existencia”, declara Erika Alfiero. En sus obras, Alfiero además de una búsqueda por expresar su mexicanidad a través de colores, texturas y emociones, refleja la empatía y fortaleza que han definido su recorrido personal y artístico.
Erika Alfiero, born in Mexico City in 1972, is a visual artist whose education and career have developed in a unique and profound way. Originally a Mechanical Administrator Engineer from the University of Monterrey (UDEM), it was her family life and multiple residencies in Mexico, London, and Budapest that led her to discover and develop her true calling in art. In Budapest, she began her artistic career, studying under renowned masters such as Francisco Vázquez, Margarita Chacón Bache, José Pérez Noriega "Piru," and Damián Ontiveros, among others. She specialized in a variety of techniques, including figurative realism in oil, abstraction, acrylic, cold wax, resins, engraving, and lithography. This broad range of techniques has allowed her to experiment with textures, colors, and forms, key characteristics of her work.
Throughout her career, Erika has participated in significant exhibitions both in Mexico and abroad. Some of the most notable include the IV International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Argentina, the XI International Biennial of Art Suba in Colombia, the V Biennial of Plastic Arts NL, and the Spectrum Miami 2019 and 2024 International Contemporary Art Fair. Her work has been exhibited in countries such as Argentina, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Brazil, Costa Rica, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States. In Mexico, she has showcased her work in important cultural spaces such as the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey (MARCO), the Claustro de Sor Juana, the Roberto Garza Sada Center at UDEM, and the Borges Cultural Center in Buenos Aires.
Committed to her community, Erika has been involved in highly significant artistic projects in Nuevo León, such as the "Memorial to the COVID-19 Heroes" in Monterrey, and the Brotherhood Mural in Tijuana alongside activist Enrique Chiu. In 2020, her work "Resiliencia" was awarded second place in the Annual Competition of the Monterrey Plastic Arts Association, highlighting the introspection and strength that permeate her work.

“En el lienzo de mi vida, cada trazo es una expresión viva de mi ser. Mi arte no es solo una manifestación, sino un reflejo de la resiliencia que ha tejido las fibras de mi existencia. Como exploradora de colores, plasmo mi travesía, en cada matiz narro una historia de empatía y fortaleza. La resiliencia es mi hilo conductor, entrelazando cada tramo de mi obra con la esencia misma de mi ser. Como artista inquieta, experimento con materiales y técnicas, alimentando mi sed de aprendizaje constante. En mi obra, la expresión de mi mexicanidad se manifiesta a través de los colores que elijo, los cuales representan los olores, sabores y sentimientos de mi tierra adorada.”
