Artist: Rachael Burke x
Rachael Burke says that the “true subject of my work is the painting process, how I build a painting when searching for equivalencies for what I think and feel." In “Flower Arboretum,” Burke depicts one of her favorite subjects: nature.
Burke's arboretum is filled with lush, tropical plants. The artist's visible, expressive brushstrokes are layered, giving depth and texture to the painting. The glass enclosure of the arboretum adds contrast between the wildly layered flowers and the presence of human-made elements.
