The C.F. Adams Building, designed in 1912 by Donaldson and Meier and constructed by the Henry Shenk Company, became Erie Insurance’s first owned home office in 1938. Located in the building’s first-floor atrium, this fireplace was designed in the Arts & Crafts style and features decorative tiles crafted by the renowned Grueby Faience Company of Boston. The tiles are arranged in a diamond pattern alongside Tapestry Brick made by Fiske & Company, Inc., showcasing the rare Persian Palm Leaf motif. This distinctive design was created by Addison B. LeBoutillier, a lead designer for Grueby and a noted artist and architect.
