There is a beautiful folk story of two fairies who live among the stars. One day, they are exploring Earth and begin to argue. They are punished for bringing strife to the world, and one is turned into a dryad and the other into a nymph. They will not be able to return home as fairies until they kiss. Separated by land and sea, they must wait for nature to erode the coastline until the tree of the dryad is at the shore. Thousands of years pass by until the tree is at the water's edge. It is this moment, when they are finally close enough, that the Dryad can lean out from her tree and kiss the Nymph and break the curse.
