'Il Dono' (The Gift) is something unexpected, it is obtained without expecting to receive it, a Serendipity. The gift is transmitted by an abstract, faceless Entity, connected directly to nature, itself being nature or something about the divine. The man who receives it finds himself outside of time and space, immersed in an empty, aseptic, and surreal landscape, and by accepting this unexpected gift, a connection is automatically born between him and the Entity. That man could be any person, even you who are looking at this painting.
