Calendar III -
Similar to Under Burnt hill -- two relatively well known stone chambers in Vermont are called Calendar I and Calendar II -- due to the openings of the chambers aligning with certain celestial events every year. The stones used for construction of the chambers are quite large, making it an impressive feat of construction considering the possible centuries ago they were made. They certainly predate any farming in the area, and were likely made by native tribes in the area. Not much is known of how or why they were made otherwise. These two are thankfully well preserved, others have not had such a kind fate. Some stone chambers are known to have been dismantled for their pre-worked stone for walls, foundations, in farmhouses, other farms are known to be built directly on top of them to make use of the chambers for cooled storage during hot summers. The idea being that the stone foundation in the illustration (a fictional Calendar III, which does not, currently, exist) was such a structure that was used by a farmer with disregard to the history of the stones, treating them as any other.
