Emma Levitt is a self-taught Australian artist known for her bold, expressive contemporary paintings that celebrate colour, movement and joyful mark making. Her work is shaped by a richly layered personal history; growing up in South Africa, spending more than a decade living in the UK, and extensive global travel, all of which inform her vibrant visual language and intuitive approach to abstraction.

Drawing inspiration from florals, the natural world and the relationship between art and design, Emma creates dynamic compositions that balance spontaneity with considered structure. Her professional background in interior and event styling, along with surface and textile design, brings a strong design sensibility to her practice, evident in her confident use of colour, pattern and layered forms.

Committed to the ongoing development of her practice, Emma has spent the past few years refining her work through a dedicated mentorship with respected Sydney artist Deni Rayneau. In 2026, she will continue this creative evolution under the mentorship of internationally recognised Australian contemporary artist Llewellyn Skye, during which she will also spend some time working from Skye’s studio, further deepening her conceptual, technical and material exploration.

Emma’s paintings are expressive and uplifting, reflecting her spirited outlook on life and a deep appreciation for beauty in its many forms.
