I am a third year MFA student in Fibers at the University of Missouri. My background is in archaeology and anthropology. Previously, I was the Natural History and Archaeology Collections coordinator at Randolph College, and helped to design the Museum and Heritage Studies major there. I focus on the implementation of local craft traditions, historical material culture, and foraged natural materials into contemporary objects and installations. In addition to spinning, weaving, and sewing, I work occasionally with clay, wood, and handmade ink and paint. I am influenced by folk art and folk magic, especially from the 17th-19th centuries.
