Working primarily with watercolor and gouache, Emily embraces the unpredictability of these mediums, allowing improvisation to guide her process. Her paintings balance familiarity and ambiguity, using vibrant color and subtle symbolism to encourage viewers to linger and uncover their own interpretations.
With a background in Graphic Design and Human-Computer Interaction, Emily has worked across various creative disciplines, but painting remains her most personal and immersive form of expression.

Statement
Why do certain settings and moments evoke such deep emotions, compelling us to return to them again and again?
How does light transform the familiar, infusing it with mystery?
What feelings arise when we linger in moments of solitude?
These are some of the questions at the heart of my work. It’s inspired by wandering—both through physical spaces and through the emotions they stir. In my travels and daily life, I seek out the unexpected details and quiet, in-between moments that often go unnoticed. There is an allure in the mystery of spaces that feel both familiar yet strange. I am captivated by how light and color can shape a memory or narrative.
Through my art, I hope to create a space for reflection, a moment to notice the subtle shifts in my surroundings and within myself. Perhaps in doing so, I can find a connection to the transient beauty of my own life.
