Emily Honderich is a multidisciplinary artist and illustrator who lives in Toronto. My artistic practice includes digital art, painting, drawing, graphic design, illustration, and textiles. I am a graduate of OCAD University with a BFA in Integrated Media. Some of my artwork was published by The Toronto School of Art’s “Spring newsletter: Abstract Art Woman on Street” and included in the Brain Injury Society of Toronto's Annual Art Show, respectively. My illustrations are also featured in The Shoe Project COVID: Across Canada. I have also worked as a graphic designer for The Shoe Project.
Statement
My art is not only a means of self-expression but a language that allows others to find meaning through visual sensation and exploration. Colour and form are important ways for me to express emotions like nostalgia, joie de vivre, solitude, and transformation.
Themes in my work include identity, transformation, and natural and built environments.
