Collection: Water and Bloom
In this body of work I am still investiagting ways to push color, create texture, and unite disparate passages. Working with no more than 2 colors, most times only one on either very smooth non-absorbant grounds or unprimed highly absorbant canvas, the surface determines much about how the paint behaves, thus I must yield some control. The process involved in these works is intuitive and meditative. I use breath, hair dryers, and gravity to push the fluid paint as it pools and flows next to gestures thickly applied. While appearing "simple", it is far from simple as it requires me to be highly attentive and focused while also allowing the paint to move as it may and the ground to accept it as it will. This process is an act of surrender and embrace of the unexpected as I distill form and elements , as well as yield control to the surface. My desire is that the work will resonate with you in a way that each becomes a gateway inviting you deeper into your interior.
