This subtle, sultry piece came about through a lot of perseverance and hard work. The result of that is many layers of cold wax and oil, applied, strategically scraped away and reapplied which gives it lots of depth and texture. It turned out to be a beautifully soft and calming painting. The Gloaming is an Irish word for twilight or at dusk.
