I came upon these two decaying trees deep in a swampy woods, and was immediately captivated by their movement. In my mind's eye, I could see the trees dancing to the 1975 Bee Gees hit, and the deep ground color balanced nicely with the foggy distance in this early winter scene.
A stroll in late fall finds these trees in perpetual dance at the edge of a marshy area. Although their days of upright growth are behind them, they still imbue the scene with energy and activity, long boughs reaching out as life's experience travels on. I used expressive brush strokes to capture their energy.
