A bounty of pears and a variety of analogous colors make for a mellow botanical painting.
A branch bends down under the weight of late autumn pears. The year I sketched the drawing for this painting, the tree was positively laden with fruit. It took days to cut and freeze the pears but all winter I was glad I had done so!
