There is nothing more magnificent than a bird in flight. Nothing more graceful than those perfectly crafted wings spread to effortlessly catch the invisible waves of the air, tilting ever so slightly to and fro as this beautiful creature dances in the sky, relishing the freedom we earthbound will never understand.
The stunning Sulphur Crested Cockatoo is one bird that simply takes my breath away. His call is the sound of the Australian bush, as iconic as the sight of the grass tree and banksia, or the smell of the eucalypts in full bloom. King of the sky, his presence commands attention as he soars high above the trees, his majestic wings outstretched, the pure white feathers contrasting with the golden crown pressed firmly against his head.
Watching this treasure of our Great South Land elegantly sail the tides of the sky, his artistic agility defying his size, I am once again amazed at the Creator who engineered each silky white feather. Who designed the bone structure to effortlessly slice through the strong currents of the Australian blue. Once again, my heart is filled with awe and wonder as I lift my eves to the heavens, praising the LORD of all Creation in my heart, who's intelligence and creativity to create such a beautiful bird is beyond my understanding. My heart is full with thankfulness, to think a God as incredible as this not only acknowledges, but even loves me.
