There is no companion quite like a dog. I believe God designed them perfectly, set apart from every other creature in the animal kingdom, to be an example of His very own unconditional love. They often come into our lives at a time when they are needed most. Nothing makes them happier than just being with their person, just being present and enjoying the company of the one to whom they have bonded to.
I have learnt so many things from my girl, who came into my life at a time I needed her most. As long as she has her family, she is content - nothing else matters. Her love is not based on my emotions or how much attention I give her - it is totally unconditional, and ever-present. Watching a dog enjoying the afternoon breeze and chasing butterflies, bursting with happiness and the simple opportunity of going for a walk, can not help but bring a happiness into my own heart.
This piece is designed to capture all these things. The happiness of my contented little buddy as she plonks herself down among the hay bales of the farm shed beside my husband and I while we work. Her selflessness as she keeps her gaze fixed on us, waiting for any sign we may need her ‘help’ to escort us should we need to walk over to the shed for more materials. And the unconditional love she has in her eyes. Nestled among the hay bales, beside her family, everything is perfect in her little world. This piece is happiness, contentment, and love.
