Elizabeth Casqueiro is a multidisciplinary artist who explores the transformational place at the intersection of built environment and nature.

Casqueiro’s vivid and playful palette is inspired by the sunny geography of her native Portugal. Her architectural training is evident in the geometry, scale and proportion of her compositions. She gravitates to materials that stem from nature - clay, water, wood, linen, and cotton; and she works in repeated layers of precision and loose gesture, reflecting the underlying poetry of place.

Elizabeth has shown her work in solo and group shows across the United States and Europe, including New York, Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, UK, Portugal, and Italy. She is a recipient of multiple art awards from, among others, the London Art Biennale, DC Arts and Humanities, and the Maryland State Arts Council.

Elizabeth has degrees in architecture and design, and has pursued art studies at Central Saint Martin’s College of Art, the Corcoran College of Art and Design, and the Washington Studio School. Her artwork is in private and corporate collections, including the World Bank Group.
