This piece was inspired by an article by Elizabeth Kolbert about Greenland. It is made up of layers of pigmented cobalt turquoise wax and oil stick. The layers are comprised of a texture I developed by trapping air in layers of molten wax which matched my intent to depict the geologic occurrence of glacier streams.
