I work very intuitively until the composition starts to communicate my intention. I embrace “happy accidents” as I work. In this piece, working with a close up of a rock with a big crack in it. I worked the female form into it. Working with the emotions and realities of being a woman. The crack in the rock became glowing “lava” flowing from the her hips. The beginning of all human life. The bright glow in the breast is heart. All the rivers and glowing golden hues connect upward to the brain. I call this “Discovery” As a woman, I’m amazed at the ability to grow life and give birth. This piece of art is created with images I took discovering the beauty of nature. In this composition it is the discovery of the wonder of the female body.
