My new Industrial Landscape series of paintings are informed by combining the natural landscape, which has always been the focus of my work, with industrial man-made elements that intrude on the environment. I seek meaning and relevance in the threat we humans pose to the natural world and the resilience, beauty and fragility of nature even as she is encroached upon.
This image is painted from a memory of taking a road trip through rural Michigan where the wind turbines stood as stark contrast to the typical Michigan autumn landscape.
