Colourful, spiritual, sometimes quirky, and inspired by nature and life experiences, Elaine Almond paints expressively in acrylics, inks, uses collage and occasionally oils. She is an intuitive artist and teacher, who loves abstract and semi-abstract forms. A former psychotherapist, she sees art as a means of self-expression and emotional connection, and is interested in how ideas and feelings translate onto the canvas and how this affects the individual. Paintings are multi-layered, in series with a common colour palette or theme.
Elaine works from her studio in Borough Green, West Kent, UK, exhibits locally, around the south east, and at national art fairs. She offers individual and group art classes. She is a member of the Pure Arts Group, Visual Artists Association, Sevenoaks Visual Arts Forum, and is registered with Art Profile (www.artprofile.co.uk) as a tutor. Since November 2022 she has been an Area Coordinator for South East Open Studios. Her work is in private collections in the UK, Eire and Canada and can also be viewed with The New Art Gallery, Eastbourne.
