Eithne is a contemporary figurative and landscape painter who primarily works in oils. Originally from County Cork, Ireland, she spent many years living abroad before moving to the dramatic and tranquil Maharees in County Kerry. Although she pursued an entirely different career path for many years her love of art has remained a constant. Eithne returned to painting a few years ago with a newfound determination and a fresh perspective. She is inspired by her keen observations, vivid imagination and love of experimentation with layers, glazes and colours. Embracing the concept of "Flow," her work melds immersive observation of the landscape with expressive, imaginative painting. Through dynamic, layered canvases that reinterpret nature as a vibrant interplay of color, texture, and form, she invites viewers on a journey where feeling and perception are as essential as the physical place. In an increasingly chaotic world, painting serves as her meditative practice—a way to centre herself amid life's turbulence.

Statement
My work explores the concept of "Flow," where observation and immersion in the landscape merge with expressive, imaginative painting. Working primarily in oils, I create dynamic, layered works that reinterpret nature as a vibrant interplay of color, texture, and form. By blending elements of the real and the imagined, I aim to evoke a sense of connection and movement, inviting viewers to journey through a landscape that is as much about feeling and perception as it is about place.
