Inspired by my Bird 1 and Bird 2 paintings, I wanted to try a different method of painting my shorebirds, so I picked acrylic paint on a wood board, instead of canvas.
As my creation happened, the thought to texture the piece formed and I decidedly used short strokes of paint. Flat painting on this surface would have required many layers to perfect but the texturing added a better visual. All colors except the black lines are textured. Look closely at the bill and you'll see a small texture.
I hope you like this.
On wood board with 1.2-inch-deep sides, this piece can sit on a desk, table or shelf, or hang on a wall. I've included a saw hanger on the back for ease.
