Earl Vincent Boley
Earl Vincent Boley created vibrant, eclectic paintings for over 50 years, reflecting a life devoted to art.
MessageIn the words of artist Robert Henri, “All art that is worthwhile is a record of an intense life.” Earl Vincent Boley, a Carmichael, California–based artist who passed away in 2013, lived exactly such a life — one deeply immersed in art.
Creativity infused everything Earl did, from painting and cooking to gardening. Over a prolific career spanning more than 50 years, he produced an extraordinary body of work and earned recognition for his evocative landscapes and wide-ranging, eclectic style.
Earl painted on anything he could find — cardboard, strips of wood, canvas, and countless other surfaces. Simply put, he loved to paint. And he loved engaging with people.
This collection represents five decades of Earl’s lifelong artistic passion. From snowy New York landscapes of the 1970s, to serene still lifes painted in Normandy, to the award-winning “American River Series” created during his later years in Sacramento, these works reveal the remarkable breadth, depth, and vitality of his artistry.
