Impermanence Collection
Formed with Fire
Using the ancient technique of encaustic (pigmented beeswax and damar resin), I construct forms that reflect the natural cycle of breakdown and rebuilding. The encaustic process allows me to build surfaces gradually, layer by layer, embedding texture and the evidence of touch. The wax responds to heat and pressure, creating surfaces that can move in unique ways, resisting permanence. I embrace these imperfections as integral to the work. These vessels become sculptural reflections of how time alters materials, memories, and ourselves.
