M1: the Crab Nebula is the glowing outer shell of an exploded star expanding fast enough for us to see changes over a few decades from earth. I used specialized filters that detect emissions from hydrogen, oxygen, and sulfur and blended them to recreate the beautiful network of expanding radioactive tendrils. The vivid colors and stunning contrast of the metal print make this a mesmerizing piece.
