On April 22nd, 2024, I took this image of the sun. It was after the total solar eclipse and before the x-flares that slammed into earth creating an unprecedented display of Aurora. I call this, "The in between sun." The technique I use is to take a slow exposure video that washes out the sun's surface, so it appears to be a white disc, but shows all of the details of the edge with the large solar flare prominences. I then take a faster exposure video that captures the details on the surface, such as mega sunspots. Subtracting the second from the first results in a "reverse" that is strikingly detailed and beautiful on black metal.
