I love this story about Irish Saint Kevin, who was born in 498 AD. When Saint Kevin held out his arms in prayer, a blackbird built a nest in his hand and laid an egg in it. He remained in that position until the baby bird had hatched and the fledgling left the nest. This story is told in a famous poem by Nobel prizewinner Seamus Heaney, and I love this line, "Alone and mirrored deep in love's deep river." Saint Kevin is known now as the patron saint of Ravens and Crows. Look closely in this Raven's eye for the eternal image of Saint Kevin.
