dougie padilla "telenovela" statement

A telenovela is a Mexican soap opera. Mexican telenovelas are even soapier than American soap operas. I call my drawings telenovelas because I am a magic surrealist post-beat artist poet of Norwegian/Mexican/cowboy roots. I step out of the common human crazee monkey mind when I am drawing and sit and watch from a quieter space. Thus, my art comes from the subconscious/ intuitive/psychic mind while whoever dougie is sits and watches in meditative emptiness.
