Inspired by conversations with my father during the final year of his life, this diptych reflects how sight continues to flicker even as clarity gives way. Using a modified lens, the image loosens into shifting blue, violet, and white, where form moves between appearance and disappearance. What remains is a portrait shaped by unstable vision, memory, and the pressure of what cannot be fully held.
Image description: A diptych photograph in shifting shades of blue, violet, and soft white. In the left panel, a faint face-like form emerges through heavy blur, dissolving toward the edges. In the right panel, lighter streaks and softened shapes suggest a face or figure without fully resolving. Together, the two panels create an unstable, flickering sense of presence, in which identity appears only partially before slipping back into a haze.
