Don Sainghin is the epicenter of a single ongoing exhibition entitled Sumerian Revelations. His work is based on the fixation of immediate movement upon the Matrix.
The Approach
The practice centers on the suddenness of the stroke. Within the flow of movement, the artist allows forms to descend from the world of Imagination into the physical dimension. The work serves to illustrate pre-existing figures that manifest during execution.
The Matrix and Materials
The initial work is created on a Matrix using tools selected for their specific pigmentary response:
• High-concentration Oil Sticks and Graphite.
• Sennelier honey-based watercolor
The Revelation Process
The final transfer is not a traditional printing process but a physical reaction. The use of the Lambda process allows for a revelation through silver halides. Through laser action, the silver gelatin is exposed in depth, transforming light into matter to restore the exact chromatic vibration of the original pigments.
