Donna Richardson
Glowing Owl Within by Donna Richardson Image: This oil painting was done using a technique called Subtractive Glaze Painting. I painted the entire canvas with a dark color first then sketched the owl design in the wet paint. Basically subtracting or removing the paint with various tools to create the design. Then finished by layering transparent colors first and lastly the opaque colors. I call this piece "Glowing Owl Within" as it captures the majestic owl with a subtle light emanating from its heart.
