Flooded Field is an early Spring painting, the death of Winter maybe, but not willingly this year. I love the distance of the subject, the lines of last year's crop and the burst of subtle purple from the Spring rain. I was going to flood the field more, but I was more interested in the shapes of the birds watching the seasons change from their rusty perch.
