St. Peters by the Sea Limited Edition of 22
St. Peters by the Sea, built in 1897, is an Episcopal church in Cape Neddick, Maine. The church is situated at the top of Christian Hill, allowing its cross to be visible to fishermen at sea. It stands at the foot of Bald Head Cliff and is open seasonally. Both the church and Ogunquit Library were designed by Charles C. Burns and constructed by Edward Blaisdell of York, Maine.
The 'St. Peters by the Sea' reduction woodcut was printed on a small Brand etching press that Don used during summers while living and producing woodcuts off Berwick Road in Ogunquit, Maine, in a small cabin he was loaned for this purpose. He had access to Annabelle's cabin for sixteen years.
