Salt Freighter on the Piscataqua Limited Edition of 20
In the 1990s, the salt freighter Türkiye made frequent trips to Portsmouth, NH. It was one of the largest freighters to dock in Portsmouth. The style of crane rising from the ship's deck dates the ship. Behind the docked freighter are the Moran Tugs.
During one of the ship's stopovers in Portsmouth, the story is told, several crew members failed to return to the ship. The owners of the ship flew in new crew in order to meet the number of crew required to sail. The story was confirmed when a Turkish national purchased this woodcut for the Consulate General of Boston.
