Dodo Newman
International artist creating large-scale abstract works and projects exploring energy, transformation, and the interconnectedness of existence.
MessageDodo Newman creates, talks, and writes. For her, art is not just for the walls — it’s a living, breathing force meant to move through the world and create impact. Using visual art, writing, speaking in public, Dodo uses every form of expression available to her to inspire connection, transformation, and new ways of seeing the world.
She was born in Budapest, Hungary. However, already at the age of 2, she was exposed to a rich mix of cultures and perspectives due to her family’s work. From India and Iran to Italy, England, Hungary, Monaco and Germany, she experienced diverse and sometimes extreme influences that have shaped her inner landscape to be open to diverse forms of existence and creative explorations.
In 2008, she found her artistic home in Berlin, Germany where she has fully embraced her mission to connect people through art.
Between 2009 and 2012, she created artworks as a tribute to the passengers of the Titanic. This project honoured each individual beyond nationality or social status by bringing their memory to life through personal stories. As part of this effort, her work served as a cultural bridge, bringing together 12 embassies in Germany through exhibitions and partnerships with the embassies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, Lebanon, Monaco, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, Turkey and Uruguay.
In 2010, following the devastating earthquake in Haiti, she collaborated with organizations such as the Red Cross France to support disaster relief through her art. That experience reinforced her belief that art has the power to bring hope and inspire transformation.
In 2012 — the year she also became a mother — one part of a diptych artwork dedicated to HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco was displayed at the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. That same year, she co-authored the book "Incredible Titanic Life Stories: Cultural Changes Over 100 Years & Borderless Art," and contributed illustrations to "The Inspirationaliste" to enhance its storytelling.
In 2018, she led a collaborative project called “Art is Fun – Children for Children” with 29 kindergarten children. 100% of the proceeds from the exhibited paintings created by the children were given back to other children in need through the non-profit organization CARITAS.
In 2019, her entrepreneurial side led her to launch "Secrets of Art Magazine," an international magazine that connected art lovers around the world — a publication she created, curated, and edited.
In 2023, she published "Creating Again," a memoir about her personal transformational journey — from struggles and hitting rock bottom to rediscovering her true purpose again.
In her recent international collaboration project, she was commissioned to create artworks around stories of stroke survivors, and these artistic expressions were implemented in the world-wide awareness campaign led by BAYER.
Currently, she has finalised two big art series:
“Seasons”– 4x4 collection that visually explores the cyclical nature of life, inviting the viewer to move through a cycle of transformation.
“Elemental Forces”– A series of five works representing the primal energies of nature —earth, water, fire, air, and space—designed to engage both visually and thematically.
Along her journey, she has given motivational talks to all kinds of audiences — from business leaders to students — sharing her thoughts and inspirations on creativity, thinking outside the box, and personal transformation.
She is open to commissioned artworks tailored specifically that bring about inner journeys, connections, powerful messages.
Through close collaboration with experts and business owners, having many years of experience of working closely with businesses, she ensures that every work not only fits the requirements but also creates a lasting impact.
Beyond her art journey, her deepest aim and curiosity is around spiritual growth as a human being, and in her roles as a mother, a woman, and a creator. This deepening has expanded her purpose in art and all other interests in her life. Through her expressions and creations, her intention is to encourage people to open their hearts, embrace life, go beyond what they think is possible, and grow in new ways.
Statement
With the belief that art has the power to change perspectives, spark transformation, and connect us on a deeper level, my goal is to continue exploring these themes, using my work to go beyond differences, inspire, and uplift others.
As a creator through art, I explore the unseen energies, cycles of transformation and profound interconnectedness between humans, nature, earth, and the universe. I seek to highlight the beauty of transitional experiences between the physical and non-physical realms, encouraging viewers to pause, feel, and cultivate a profound connection with existence that awaken infinite possibilities.
My art reflects my own journey toward understanding and embracing this universal continuum.
