A glimpse into her life's journey, Diane’s paintings weave a tale of overcoming life’s detours and a deep connection with the world around her.
MessageA competitive swimmer appears to be in a meditative trance as he practices his strokes for competition. The churning of the water can be like poetry in motion, each repetitive stroke so perfectly choreographed to enable the swimmer the best advantage over opponents as he moves the water. The movement of the pool water blurs as your eyes follow the swimmer.
The swimmer reminds us of our own movement through life. We may come across obstacles as we approach our own tasks. There is only one effective way to get through them. We take one stroke after the other to reach our goal.
This abstract oil painting was inspired as I watched swim meets as swimmers practiced in preparation for their goal of winning the Olympics.
