I picked up the Blue Heron statue with driftwood, in this still life painting, at the beach while in Florida as a token of remembrance of the beautiful marshes filled with beautiful birds. I combined it with a decorative ball and a pineapple statue to round out the display.

I think Herons are one of the great mysteries with their ability to stand on those spindly legs, and fly gracefully through the air as if they were lighter than air.
