The hand painted background fabric was a challenge here. What to do with the red strokes, the green blobs and the yellow feathering? The first thing that came to mind was a sense of mystery, something dark in the forest. I could see bushes, so I embroidered beads for leaves. Then I saw the yellow flowers which needed some beading and very fragile stems. The dark red tree trunks were strong enough that they didn’t need any treatment. I’m happy with the result. This art quilt would be a lovely addition to any grey or pink wall. What do you think?
