My husband and I are avid dancers, some ballroom but mostly your basic styles. In Finland we have so-called ‘lavatanssit’ in the summer when we go to these pavilions all over the countryside and dance foxtrot, waltz, Finnish tango and fusku, which is a form of swing or jive. These dances are very popular, the bands are very good and many people meet their future partners at these dances. We are focusing on the challenging Argentine Tango and take private lessons to get the techniques right. Our dance teacher is a former Finnish Champion and so we are very fortunate to have access to him on a regular basis. I asked AI to find me a couple dancing tango which I then hand stitched in counter and the light really shines around the dancers because of the textile and the stitches used.
