A friend has a daughter who was going to Thailand to count and map the mangroves in a particular area. I had always been fascinated by those amazing trees whose roots seemed to grow out of water. I asked for some new images of AI in various design styles and this was one of the first and one that I liked very much because of the colourful image. I then did some machine stitching and hand embroidery highlighting the movements in the design. The white frame makes it into a joyful piece of wall art.
